Azure Husbandry Purple Giant Zinnia Seed, Organic

Purple Giant Zinnias have impressive, large blooms that are deep purple with golden "star" stamens.  They add an attractive touch to any flower bed/garden!  These can reach heights of 4' with strong stems perfect for cutting from July-frost.  Zinnias attract butterflies, have long-lasting petals, and are an edible medicinal plant.  Open pollinated.

WHERE & WHEN TO PLANT:  For best results, plant seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last spring frost at about 1/4" deep.  Accustom plants to outside conditions by moving seedlings to a sheltered area for a week before planting in the garden.  Can be sown outdoors after all danger of frost has passed by just lightly covering the seed with soil.  Plants should be 12 inches apart.  Water thoroughly.

REMARKS:  Zinnias like full sun and warm temperatures.  To test if ready for cutting, gently shake the stem from about eight inches below the bloom. If the stem bends even slightly, it’s not quite ready. Once the stem is stiff, harvest!  The more you harvest, the more they bloom!
