Azure Market Almond Meal Flour, Blanched

Almond Meal/Flour is simply skinless, blanched almonds that have been finely ground. It lends a moist texture and rich, buttery flavor to cakes, cookies, muffins, sweet breads and a host of other desserts, especially the classic French frangipane. It is also superb as a breading for meats and vegetables. Almond Meal/Flour is low in carbohydrates and a good source of protein, fiber, vitamin E, and magnesium.

Almonds are notoriously healthy nuts providing a good amount of manganese and vitamin E, as well as a healthy serving of monounsaturated fats in each 1/4 cup serving. Not only do almonds have a healthy boost of protein, they are also very low in carbohydrates and inherently gluten-free.

The terms “almond flour” and “almond meal” are often used interchangeably. However, almond meal is coarse and prepared from whole almonds with skins. Azure Market Almond Flour has a finer texture and is made from blanched almonds after the skin's been removed.

Directions

Replace up to 1/4 cup Almond Meal Flour per cup of wheat flour called for in your recipe. Store Almond Meal/Flour in refrigerator or freezer to extend shelf-life.
