Not only is dark chocolate (60% cocoa or higher) preferable for cooking and baking purposes because of the resulting consistency, but it also boasts a wide range of health benefits. Studies have shown that dark chocolate can contribute to healthy bones and even help with sleep. This is because of the substantial minerals offered, which includes iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, and phosphorus. Dark chocolate also contains large amounts of tryptophan, which is an amino acid that acts as a natural trigger for serotonin release.
