This hot cocoa is crafted using organic maple sugar from Citadelle Maple Syrup Producers’ Co-operative in Quebec, Canada with organic cacao grown by small farmer cooperatives in the Dominican Republic and Peru and organic cane sugar from small-scale farmers in Paraguay. When farmers organize into co-ops they gain crucial market access, run their business democratically, and decide together how to invest in their communities.
