Our Organic Alfalfa Leaf Sprouting Seeds are grown in accordance with the National Organic Program and Certified Organic by Quality Assurance International (QAI), Alfalfa is a hearty mild, leafy green with a neutral flavor that makes a perfect lettuce substitute, and is also great in juice. Alfalfa is a fast-growing plant, and if you were to examine it after only a week's time, you would already notice the green leaves starting. Even at this early stage, Alfalfa provides the full flavor of the fully grown adult vegetable. In the case of alfalfa, the adult plant's leaves are just a little bit too chewy to be considered delectable by people, but its baby leaves, the sprouts, are perfectly scrumptious.

Soak 4 to 8 hours – Place 1 - 2 tbsp of seeds in a wide mouth jar. Cover jar with screen; secure with a rubber band. Add water, swirl, and drain. Refill jar with water. Soak seeds 4 - 8 hours. Drain water well and invert jar at an angle in a sink or a bowl.

Rinse twice a day – Rinse seeds by refilling jar with water and gently swirling. Drain well and invert jar.

Enjoy! Ready to eat in 5 days – To keep fresh, refrigerate well drained sprouts. Sprouts store best when fairly dry- do not store immediately after rinsing.

Storage: If you'd like to extend the germination life of your seeds, store them in the fridge. If you store your seeds in the freezer in a sealed freezer bag, they'll last even longer!

*1 tbsp (approximately .42 oz) of dry seeds yields 3-4 cups of sprouts.
